SOLUTION 1.


Ice:  Fill glass with ice chips/cubes, add water. Place thermometer in ice water for 30 seconds to

 One minute. It should read 32 degrees. If it does not, using pliers, adjust the nut on the back

 until it does.

SOLUTION 2.


Boiling water:  Bring a sauce pan of water to a rolling boil, carefully place end of thermometer

 In the boiling water for 30 seconds to one minute. It should read 212 degrees.

 If it does not, using pliers, adjust the nut on the back until it does.

SOLUTION 3.


Oven: Heat oven to 200 degrees. Place thermometer in the oven for 3 minutes. If it does not read

 200 degrees, use pliers to adjust the nut on the back until it does.
